"Anybody can become angry - that is easy; but to be angry with the right person, and to the right degree, and at the right time, and for the right purpose, and in the right way -- that is not within everybody's power and is not easy." - Aristotle "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry. Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain. - Author Unknown And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen. And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. Thought for the Day 4/25/2007

Psalm 37 reminds us not to store up our treasures here on this earth. So many people today are giving up their eternal happiness in exchange for temporary pleasures. What would you have to exchange just to have that new sports car, new home, extra income, or new lifestyle that you desire? David reminds us that it's better to have just a "little" here on this earth than to forfeit our eternal inheritance. - Daily Psalm Better is the little of the righteous than the abundance of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked will be broken, But the LORD sustains the righteous. The LORD knows the days of the blameless, And their inheritance will be forever. Psalm 37:16-18

Love, unlike gold, is treasure that gains value by being spent. - Author unknown As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, "One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." Mark 10:17, 21

"Problems are only opportunities in work clothes." -Henry J. Kaiser But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. 2 Timothy 4:5

Never does the human soul appear so strong and noble as when it forgoes revenge and dares to forgive an injury. - E. H. Chapin Do not take revenge, my friends..... On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:19-20

Thought for the Day 4/19/2007

No revenge is more honorable than the one not taken. --Spanish Proverb "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD." Leviticus 19:18

An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep . -- Arab proverb Then one of the elders said to me, "Weep not; lo, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals." Revelation 5:5

Thought for the Day 4/16/2007

Our days are like the grass; like flowers of the field we blossom. Psalm 102:15 Blossoms by: Edna Massimilla I watched the blossoms of the tree In colorful array And swaying with a gentle breeze They seemed to softly say... "Each blossom that our God hath made Does beautify the land And every lovely pastel shade is painted by His hand." I love to watch them on that day, But knew that suddenly At season's end they'd fade away. But saddened I'd not be For blossoms shed - they come and go, And others then appear. New peace, new life, God does bestow Each season of the year.

Thought for the Day 4/13/2007

Some things you have to do every day. Eating seven apples on Saturday night instead of one a day, just isn't going to get the job done. Jim Rohn As the LORD daily cares for us. So we must go to Him daily. Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Thought for the Day 4/10/2007

Because when "we work, we work" but when " we pray, God works ". To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

Thought for the Day 4/9/2007

I must take care, on the one hand, never to despise, or be unthankful for, these earthly blessings, and on the other, never to mistake them for the something else of which they are only a kind of copy, or echo, or mirage. -C.S. Lewis Therefore we do not lose heart. While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Thought for the Day 4/6/2007

Yesterday He died for me. . . Today He lives for me. . . Tomorrow He comes for me. . . . Jack Wyrtzen For the love of Christ constrains us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Thought for the Day 4/5/2007

Before You By William Arthur Ward Before you speak, listen. Before you write, think. Before you spend, earn. Before you criticize, wait. Before you pray, forgive. Before you quit, try. Before you die, give. unknown But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. James 3:17

The Price of Joy You don’t begrudge the labor when the roses start to bloom; You don’t recall the dreary days that won you their perfume; You don’t recall a single care You spent upon the garden there; And all the toil Of tilling soil Is quite forgot the day the first Pink rosebuds into beauty burst. —Edgar A.
