Thought for the Day 4/30/2008

Always put off until tomorrow what you shouldn't do at all.
--Morris Mandel

"If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up?
And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door;
and its desire is for you, but you must master it."
Genesis 4:7

How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
Psalm 1:1-2

these are the ones who have heard the word
in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast,
and bear fruit with perseverance.

begins by carrying away small stones.
--Chinese Proverb

And He said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith;
for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed,
you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move;
and nothing will be impossible to you.

If we had no winter,
the spring would not be so pleasant:
if we did not sometimes taste of adversity,
prosperity would not be so welcome.
-Anne Bradstreet

Before I was afflicted I went astray,
But now I keep Your word.
You are good, and do good;

You can’t change the past,
but you can ruin the present by worrying over the future.
Unknown

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.

you are the window through
which you must see the world.

Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.
Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.

"The seasons do not push one another;
neither do clouds race the wind across the sky.
All things happen in their own good time."
-- Dan Millman

Yet God has not left himself without testimony:
He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons;
He provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.

is dead, being by itself.

but He does not throw it into the nest.

Ask God's blessing on your work,
but don't ask Him to do it for you.

So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed,
not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence,
work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

Thought for the Day 4/9/2008

I would rather live my life as if there is a God,
and die to find out there isn't,
than live my life as if there isn't,
and die to find out there is.

when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God,
and those who hear will live.

Thought for the Day 4/6/2008

A story about a young lady:
This young lady was really upset, she hadn't seen or spoken to her best friend Jim in a couple of weeks, and he shows up at her door and commands her to get dressed and go riding with him. So she finally does.

As they were riding, they passed a garden full of flowers. Jim says "Do you see those flowers?" "Yes," she says.

"Do you think that when someone steps on those flowers that they lie there and feel sorry for themselves?" Jim says. "No."

"No, they immediately start to mend their wounds so they can heal, and grow strong and healthy!"

They ride a little further and Jim points up in a tree, "You see those squirrels up there? Do you think that when people shoot at them they go hide forever?"

"No," she says.

About that time the ocean comes into sight. Jim says "You see that ocean out there? Do you think that when there's a hurricane out there that the ocean doesn't go back out because it's afraid to face the storm?"

"No," she says.

"Then, why have you stopped living because you have been hurt?"
The worst part was the fact that Jim died a short time later.
And that's when she realized how much precious time she wasted.

Why have you stopped living because you have been hurt?

TIME MANAGEMENT

Lost time is never found again.
- Benjamin Franklin

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.
For what advantage is it to a man if he gains the whole world,
and is himself destroyed or lost?
Luke 9:24-25

TIME MANAGEMENT
Don’t mistake movement for achievement.
It’s easy to get faked out by being busy.
The questions is: Busy doing what?
-- Jim Rohn

Surely every man walks about like a shadow;
Surely they busy themselves in vain; He heaps up riches,
And does not know who will gather them.
And now, Lord, what do I wait for?
My hope is in You.
Psalm 39:6-7
