Thought for the Day 5/31/2011

May your purse always hold a coin or two;

    May the sun always shine on your windowpane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
    May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
Irish Blessing

      We have blessed you from the house of the LORD.

Thought for the Day 5/27/2011

“Delay of justice is injustice”

Walter Landor

Because sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily,
the heart of the sons of men is fully set to do evil.

….yet I know that it will be well with those who reverence God,
because they fear before him…

Thought for the Day 5/24/2011

Do you know why a car’s WINDSHIELD is so large

        and the rear view mirror is so small?
Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE.
        So, look ahead and move on.
Unknown

But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and
        reaching forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize
     of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14

Thought for the Day 5/20/2011

Recipe for Today

Fold two hands together
And express a dash of sorrow
Marinate it overnight
And work on it tomorrow.

Chop one grudge in tiny pieces
Add several cups of love
Dredge with a large sized smile
Mix with the ingredients above.

Dissolve the hate within you
By doing a good deed
Cut in and help your friend
If he should be in need.

Stir in laughter, love, and kindness
From the heart it has to come
Toss with genuine forgiveness
And give your neighbor some.

The amount of people served
Will depend on you
It can serve the whole wide world
If you really want it to
(Author Unknown)

But Faith works by Love.
Galatians 5:6

Thought for the Day 5/19/2011

"Patience serves as a protection against

wrongs as clothes do against cold.

For if you put on more clothes as the cold increases,
it will have no power to hurt you.

So in like manner you must grow in patience
when you meet with great wrongs, and
they will be powerless to vex your mind."
- Leonardo Da Vinci

Therefore, as God's chosen people,
            clothe yourselves
with compassion, kindness, humility,
gentleness and
              patience.
Colossians 3:12

"Nobody can go back and start a new beginning,
but anyone can start today and make a new ending."

We were therefore buried with Christ
           through baptism into death
in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead
         through the glory of the Father,
we too may live a new life.
Romans 6:4

Your self image is your pattern!

      Every thought has an activity visualized.
Every activity belongs to a pattern.
        You identify with your pattern or thought.
Your patterns leads your life.

“When you have come to the edge of all the light you have

         And step into the darkness of the unknown
Believe that one of the two will happen to you
       Either you'll find something solid to stand on
                 Or you'll be taught how to fly!”
Richard Bach

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and
         lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him, and
           He shall direct your paths.

your ground is worth standing on."

Never mistake knowledge for wisdom.

        One helps you make a living,
the other helps you make a life.
~ Sandra Carey

Happy is the man who finds wisdom,
       and the man who gains understanding;
for her proceeds are better than the profits of silver,
       and her gain than fine gold.

Thought for the Day 5/4/2011

The block of granite which was an

     obstacle in the pathway of the weak,
became a stepping-stone
      in the pathway of the strong.
~Thomas Carlyle

Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious;
       but to those who are disobedient,
"The stone which the builders rejected
        has become the chief cornerstone…"
