Thought for the Day 11/29/2013

Even in the most peaceful surroundings,
      the angry heart finds quarrel.
Even in the most quarrelsome surroundings,
    the grateful heart finds peace.
-Doe Zantamata

Let us be thankful, then because
we receive a kingdom that cannot be shaken.
Let us be grateful and worship God in a
way that will please Him, with respect and awe.
-Hebrews 12:28

Thought for the Day 11/28/2013

The more we grow in our experience of God's grace,
the more we discover that thanksgiving
isn't simply something we say to God,
but a way of living each day.
-PsalmThoughts

I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving
and call on the name of the Lord.
-Psalm 116:17

Thought for the Day 11/27/2013

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough, and more.
  It turns denial into acceptance,
      chaos to order,
            confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast,
   a house into a home,
        a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past,
     brings peace for today,
and creates a vision for tomorrow.
-Melody Beattie

Enter His gates with thanksgiving;
go into His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him and praise His name.
-Psalm 100:4

Thought for the Day 11/26/2013

Give thanks for sorrow that teaches you pity;
for pain that teaches you courage --
and give exceeding thanks for the mystery
which remains a mystery still -
the veil that hides you from the infinite,
which makes it possible for you to
believe in what you cannot see.
-Robert Nathan

In everything give thanks:
for this is the will of God in Jesus Christ concerning you.
-1 Thessalonians 5:18

Thought for the Day 11/25/2013

Sometimes our light goes out, but
is blown into flame by another human being.
Each of us owes deepest thanks to those
 who have rekindled this light.
-Albert Schweitzer

Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your Name:
The upright shall dwell in Your presence.
-Psalm 140:13
