Thought for the Day 12/31/2013

Tomorrow is the first blank page
   of a 365 page book.
Write a good one.
 -Brad Paisley

They read from the book,
from the Word of God, clearly,
and they gave the sense,
so that the people understood the reading.
-Nehemiah 8:8

Hope is a talent,
   like any other.

May God, the source of hope,
fill you with all joy and peace
by means of your faith in Him,
so that your hope will continue to grow.

Thought for the Day 12/27/2013

To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
   And eternity in an hour.
 -William Blake

O LORD, how many are your works!
 In wisdom you have made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures!
-Psalm 104:24 (the whole Psalm is GREAT!)

Thought for the Day 12/26/2013

No one can follow Christ,
and go astray.

William H.P. Faunce

For to this you have been called,
because Christ also suffered for you,
leaving an example,
so that you might follow in his steps.

Thought for the Day 12/25/2013

Practice Jesus
If we practiced Jesus every way,
It'd be like his birth every day;

If we, like Him, were meek and mild
And loved each woman, man and child,

If we'd read our Bible, it'd remind us,
So that every single day would find us

More and more in sweet accord
With our sweet Jesus--Master, Lord.

Then every day that we're alive
Our lives and others would all thrive.
 -Joanna Fuchs (amended)

Keep yourselves in the love of God,
waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ
            that leads to eternal life.
-Jude 1:21

Thought for the Day 12/24/2013

They gave him a manger for a cradle,
 a carpenter's bench for a pulpit,
   thorns for a crown, and
     a cross for a throne.
He took them and made them the
     very glory of his life.
-W.E. Orchard

Look to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith,
who for the joy that was set before him,
endured the cross, despising the shame,
and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
-Hebrews 12:2
