Thought for the Day 12/31/2015

Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself:
I, not events, have the power to make me happy
or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be.
Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and
I'm going to be happy in it.
-Groucho Marx

I..... have set before you life and death,
 blessing and curse.  Therefore, choose
life, that you and your offspring may live,
loving the Lord your God, obeying His voice
     and holding fast to Him,
for He is your life and length of days....
-Deuteronomy 30:19-20

Thought for the Day 12/30/2015

Life is more meaningful when you are
  always looking to grow and
     working towards a goal.
What is yours for the coming year?
-Les Brown

As we look not to the things that are seen
but to the things that are unseen.
For the things that are seen are transient,
but the things that are unseen, are eternal.
-2 Corinthians 4:18

Thought for the Day 12/29/2015

If I'm content with a little,
enough is as good as a feast.
Isaac Bickerstaffe

Not that I am speaking of being in need,
for I have learned in whatever situation
    I am, to be content.
Philippians 4:11

Thought for the Day 12/28/2015

It's nice to be important,
but it's more important to be nice.
Marben Bland

But love your enemies, and do good,
and lend, expecting nothing in return,
and your reward will be great, and
you will be the sons of the Most High,
for He is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.
Luke 6:35

Thought for the Day 12/25/2015

Glory In Rejection
Jesus life on earth is book-ended by rejection
- Rejection by the Inn Keeper at birth
- Rejection by His own disciples at death

But in rejection there is glory.

His birth while humble was:
- So wonderful....that a single star shined brightly
- So wonderful...that wise men came from a far
- So wonderful...that the people of this earth to this day are still inspired by that holy night so long ago

His death while burial provides:
- Hope...because of the prophecy fulfilled by His crucifixion
- Hope....because of the victory of His resurrection
- Hope....because of the forgiveness afforded by His sacrifice

Jesus proves to us that there is glory in rejection
-       So take heart...... His suffering was not in vain
-       So take heart ......His body was broken for a purpose
-       So take heart.......His blood was spilled for goodness

Jesus life was on earth is book- ended by rejection:    Why?

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  (John 3:16)

For in Jesus where there is rejection there is glory.
