Thought for the Day 10/30/2015

A man won a prize at the county fair for a full-grown
pumpkin shaped like a small jar!
  How did he accomplish this?
When the pumpkin started to bloom he simply put the
  bloom into a glass jar and the pumpkin, as it grew,
    filled up the jar.  He then broke the jar,
      and the pumpkin duplicated the size and shape of the jar.

Many times we do the same to ourselves.
   We place our selves in containers that limit our growth.
 The container will be just as large or small as
we believe it to be. It is a matter of choice.
     We can choose to grow or
         we can choose to become ripe and rot.
-Unknown
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength,
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
       they shall run and not be weary;
           they shall walk and not faint.
-Isaiah 40:31

Thought for the Day 10/29/2015

Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps
   if you are not willing to move your feet.
-Unknown
But be doers of the word,
    and not hearers only,
        deceiving yourselves.
-James 1:22 (see Jeremiah 42:19-22)

Thought for the Day 10/28/2015

I find it is not the circumstances
   in which we are placed, but
    the spirit in which we face them
      that constitutes our comfort.
-Elizabeth T. King
Why are you cast down, O my soul,
   and why are you in turmoil within me?
     Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him,
        my salvation and my God.
-Psalm 42:11

Thought for the Day 10/27/2015

Courage is... what it takes to
    stand up and speak.
Courage is also... what it takes
         to sit down and listen.
-Winston Churchill
Wait for the Lord;
   be strong, and let your heart
        take courage;
           Wait for the Lord!
-Psalm 27:14

Thought for the Day 10/26/2015

The highest reward for a man's toil
       is not what he gets for it,
           but what he becomes by it.
-John Ruskin
His master said to him, "Well done,
   good and faithful servant.
     You have been faithful over a little;
           I will set you over much.
Enter into the joy of your master.
-Matthew 25:21

Thought for the Day 10/23/2015

There is no such thing in anyone's life
   as an unimportant day.
-Alexander Woolcott
This is the day that the Lord has made;
   let us rejoice and be glad in it.
-Psalm 118:24
