Thought for the Day 7/31/2015

The pain of discipline or the pain of regret.
          It is your choice.

And have you forgotten the exhortation that
 addresses you as sons? "My sons, do not regard
   lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary
      when reproved by Him. For the Lord disciplines
         the one He loves, and
            chastises every son whom He receives.

Thought for the Day 7/30/2015

Habits are like comfortable beds;
   they are easy to get into,
       but difficult to get out of.
-Denis Waitley

So get rid of every filthy habit and all wicked conduct.
   Submit to God and accept the word that He
       plants in  your hearts, which is able to save you.
-James 1:21 (CEV)

   pains become your greatest strengths.
-Drew Barrymore

But when we are judged by the Lord,

Thought for the Day 7/28/2015

Don't let negative and toxic people
    rent space in your head.
Raise the rent and kick them out.
-Robert Tew

You have put more joy in my heart than they
   have when their grain and wine abound.
In peace I will both lie down and sleep;
   for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
-Psalm 4:7-8

Thought for the Day 7/27/2015

Two Days Without Worry
There are two days in every week about which we should not worry,
 two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.
 One of these days is Yesterday with all its mistakes and cares,
   its faults and blunders, its aches and pains.
Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.
  We cannot undo a single act we performed or a single word we said. Yesterday is gone forever.
The other day we should not worry about is Tomorrow
   with all its possible  adversities, its burdens,
     its large promise and its poor performance;
Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.
   Tomorrow's sun will rise, either in splendor
      or behind a mask of clouds, but it will rise.
This leaves only one day, Today.

So let us, therefore, live but one day at a time

But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness,
   and all these things will be added to you.
Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow,
   for tomorrow will be anxious for itself.
-Matthew 6:33-34

Thought for the Day 7/24/2015

Life is an attitude.
  Have a good one.
-Eric J. Lungaard

Show a gentle attitude toward everyone.
    The Lord is coming soon.
-Philippians 4:5

Thought for the Day 5/17/2021
