Thought for the Day 7/24/2026

Friday Tale ~ Choices M ichael is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!" He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Michael was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation. Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Michael and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?" Michael replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or . . . you can choose to be in a bad mood. I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or . . . I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept t...

Friday Tale - PMA Company   Y ou can tell by the company people choose, what sort of character they have.   As the saying goes, “Birds of a feather flock together.” We usually choose friends and business associates who like the same things we do, people who share the same values.   If you choose happy, positive, productive companions, the odds are that you are or will soon become happy, positive, and productive yourself. Unfortunately, the reverse is also true. Unhappy, negative, destructive people are sure to drag you down with them.   Choose to spend most of your time with persons who have PMA — a Positive Mental Attitude. If your job requires you to spend time with negative people, limit that time to the best of your ability and above all don’t let them discourage you with their negativism. Instead, display your own PMA . ~ Jim Gentil   P raise the LORD!   Friday Tale - Caring to Stay Positive   A business man was walking to work downtown in a big city and decided to stop off at his regular newspaper stand to buy a paper. He greeted the newsman very courteously, but in return he received abrupt and discourteous service. The newsman had a very sour disposition.     Accepting the newspaper, which was rudely shoved in his face, the business- man politely smiled and wished the newsman a nice weekend.     As he walked away, a bystander who had observed all of this walked up to the business- man and asked, “Does he always treat you so rudely?”    “Yes, unfortunately he does,” answered the business-man.     “And are you always so polite and friendly to him?” asked the bystander.     “Yes, I am,” said the business-man.     “Why are so nice to him when he is so rude to you?” the bystander question...
