Thought for the Day 4/5/2019

Friday Tale - The Sands of Forgiveness: A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert.  During some point of the journey they had an argument, and  one friend slapped the other one in the face.  The one who got slapped was hurt,  but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.   They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.   After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.   The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?"   The other friend replied "When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, w

A stumbling block to the pessimist is   a stepping stone to the optimist. ~Eleanor Roosevelt BUT we preach Christ crucified,  a stumbling block to the Jews and folly    to Gentiles, BUT to those who are called,    both Jews and Gentiles, Christ the       power of God and the wisdom of God. ~Romans 13:13

IF something appears to be a block,    then it can be a stepping stone.      All the force that is pulling against you            can be changed to lift you.  John Roger For the scripture says, "I choose a valuable stone,    which I am placing as the cornerstone in Zion;     And whoever believes in Him will never be disappointed. This stone is of great value for you that believe....    The stone which the builders rejected as worthless            turned out to be the most important of all.    1 Peter 2:6-7

M ountains DO move... One Stone at a Time -Rick Beneteau J esus answered them, "Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.'  - Mark 11:22-23

Thought for the Day 10/15/2009

We can throw stones, complain about them, stumble on them, climb over them, or build with them. William Arthur Ward For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame." Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, "The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone," and, "A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall." They stumble because they disobey the message…. 1 Peter 2:6-8
