Thought for the Day 5/31/2013

John 5:25, 29 “ Truly , truly , I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God , and those who hear will live . Do not marvel at this ; for an hour is coming , in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice , and will come forth ; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life , those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment .” God grants us a wonderful gift of life on this earth. During this life we have a choice to serve ourselves or to serve Him and His Son. He has given us a life full of blessings and learning, as well as an incredible creation to remind us of His presence. In his mercy God gives us opportunity each day to acknowledge Him and turn to Him. In the end we all go to the grave where there is no more thought or life (unless Christ returns during our lifetime). There we have no sense of passing time. "Don't dwell on what happened in the past. Instead, focus on what to do next. Spend you energies on moving forward …." - Denis Waitley But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind    and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14

The poor man is not he who is without a cent,     but he who is without hope . Harry Kemp But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers,     about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope .      For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again,                 even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

Thought for the Day 5/28/2013

The past cannot be regained,            although we can learn from it; the future is not yet ours            even though we must plan for it. Time is now. We have only today. Charles Hummell For the grace of God has appeared,           bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives             in the present age,      waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. Titus 2:11-13

Thought for the Day 5/27/2013

"Vision is the art of seeing things invisible." - Jonathon Swift So we do not lose heart.    Though our outer self is wasting away,           our inner self is being renewed day by day. ….as we look not to the things that are seen                 but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient,               but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
